I realize that many of you have probably wondered if I dropped off the earth since I have not posted anything in quite some time. My work has been so focused on clients and the recent DC Design House lately that I have not had as much time as I would like to devote to my posts.

I was long overdue for a get away and the travel bug got the best of me so my partner and I just returned from an incredible road trip through America’s Southwest. Our journey began in Park City, Utah and continued through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Durango Colorado and finally onto Santa Fe, New Mexico, which has become a spiritual second home to us.

For those of you familiar with Santa Fe you will surely agree that the light there is extraordinary. I am also drawn to the endless skies, wide open spaces, and the fantastic architecture. I find that I am drawn to the modern interpretations of Pueblo architecture when done right. The successful examples celebrate the colors of the Southwest and the outdoors.

We were fortunate to stay in such a house where I did not have to stray very far to take some interesting photos.

More on the rest of our adventures in the Southwest later.
